About Christopher
Hey, I'm Chris, thanks for coming across my teaching page, I absolutely love teaching music (great with kids as well), and love seeing gradual progress being made...Slow and steady steps and you will learn in no time! I teach voice and drum lessons. For drums we will start with the basic building blocks of rythm, play basic drum beats then play along to your favorite songs. For vocals we will do breathing/ piano melody exersizes then play and sing songs together (speakers, microphone, and drumset provided)! A little more about me- I have taken several music courses at Musicians Institute, Los Angeles Valley College, and have a Bachelor's degree at the California State University of Northridge. I currently give private lessons in person and online, have taught students at Hollywood and Fairfax high schools, and have been a music therapist for kids on the spectrum. As a musician, singer/ songwriter and producer, I have created numerous songs for over 20 years and have several albums on which I've played every instrument on. I've performed live all around Los Angeles including venues such as the Troubadour, Roxy and Saban Theatres and can provide performers with confidence and skills to take their talent and visions to the next level! Lessons are taught in a format in which students are inclined to navigate towards. Great with kids as well as adults. For voice lessons we will do breath control and vocal warmups on the piano then jump into singing your favorite songs with a microphone (mic, speaker, and exersize sheets provided.) For drum lessons we will break down the basics and play to a metronome then to your favorite songs (drumset, sticks, and exersize sheets provided)! From basic to intermediate/ advanced music theory and musicianship, there will be fun and useful exercises such as reading and playing rhythmic notes and drum beats as well as pitch matching for piano and voice. Rhythm (for drums) is an essential component of all instruments, and one instrument is a gateway for any other! Understanding that there are only 7 notes in any given scale (ABCDEFG) will allow the learner to understand and create an infinite amount of possibilities with those notes. Lessons can be taught starting from a beginner to a more advanced/ intermediate level for each instrument, along with vocals, songwriting, and even production/ recording your music (via Logic Pro or even Garageband). Perfect! I had an incredible first lesson with him! He is patient, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated when he explains things. I honestly learned more in one lesson than I expected, and the time just flew by. He helped me gain confidence right away and made the whole experience enjoyable and encouraging. You can clearly tell he loves what he does, and that passion really comes through in his teaching. I’m definitely planning to continue learning with him. I highly recommend him 100% if you want to truly learn and get your money’s worth!
Perfect! Christopher is an excellent drum & singing instructor. I came to him as a total beginner and I see so much progress in myself each time we meet! I am progressing on the drums much faster than I expected thanks to his clear programming. Also, as someone who is very nervous when singing I highly recommend him as an instructor. I don’t like hearing my own voice even though I love to sing and Christopher has really gone above and beyond when it comes to his teaching methods in helping me tackle that. Would highly recommend!

Chris is a great vocal instructor! It's simple to follow along with pitch matching exercises on the piano. He will accommodate you in finding your comfort range while challenging you to push your limits and take on new possibilities!
