Heidi is so genuinely caring and attentive no matter what skill level you go into lessons with. I had no formal teaching prior to working with Heidi, and she made me feel so comfortable and confident in my abilities right off the bat. She cares so genuinely about her students, both as students and individuals - and always made me feel right at home with her, through both in person lessons and virtual. On top of that, Heidi was very flexible in how we worked together - and was incredibly patient with my schedule through a job change and physical move. Working with Heidi was an amazing experience I would recommend to anyone looking to improve their musical abilities.

I play the flute, and when I was first learning it took a while, but Heidi was kind and patient and let me have all the time in the world to learn. Yes, Heidi is a wonderful, musical talent who is committed to the art and teaching of music, to bringing musical knowledge to her community through teaching. Heidi is a California State University, Chico music major alum who was very active in the local music community. I knew her professionally as a manager of a campus office where she worked and, more importantly, as a fellow musician. I have not seen her for several years, but I know her musical knowledge, skill and enthusiasm for her eclectic, fine musical tastes and personal discipline was evident then in her frequent local performances. I assume that now, Heidi displays as a teacher the same patience and ability to effectively work with students of different skill levels. I recommend her absolutely.

I am an adult student. I met Heidi in 2014, when I started composing music earnestly. We have been working together since that time, so 11 years. I'd gone as far as I could without a teacher. Heidi strives to make sure that she doesn't impose her superior knowledge on my compositions, always acknowledging that the music must sound good to me. With that she provides knowledge, suggestions, and ideas that have helped me compose several pieces including a fantasia, a waltz, a piano quartet and a tone poem. These would not have happened without Heidi working with me over the years. Highly recommended.

Heidi is a fun and enthusiastic teacher who does a great job meeting her students where they are at, while coaxing then to keep moving forward with their skills. She has been teaching guitar to our seven year old for the last 8 month, and recently started working with our 4 year old to see if she's ready. She is very knowledgeable and I can see she has a great love for teaching music. We are very fortunate to have found her.

Someone in my family has been taking some music lesson from Heidi since 2012. She's helped all three of my kids get better and progress as musicians. All three still play or sing regularly and all take joy in it. I truly believe that the support, knowledge, and encouragement Heidi gave them over the years is a bit part of them.

I'm not going to dwell on the fact that she was able to teach one kid piano (he's a very decent player now), one kid flute, help the third when she wanted to develop her singing voice, and now she and my husband play electric guitar during his lesson. She's truly multitalented.

The things that stand out to me, as the parent of students, is how well she balances patience with expectation. She was patient on the weeks when they didn't want to -or didn't bother to- practice, but her expectation that they would, and her encouragement meant that they did.

True educators, in my opinion, are wonderful people who can guide a student through their learning to be their best. I feel that Heidi is one of those educators and this is why I'm happy to recommend her.
