About Tala
I am a fourth-year biology major on the pre-medical track at The Ohio State University. I have recently applied to medical schools and I am currently deciding and preparing for future plans. As I finish my undergraduate in biology, I have gained a deep sense of understanding of the material due to the rigor of the program and its requirements at OSU. As a student, I struggled academically my first semester and I have learned to adapt throughout the years. I believe I have great test-taking strategies as well as content review skills that I have accumulated over the years and that I will be taking with me to medical school. As a student, I've always felt more comfortable learning from other students which is why I decided to become a tutor and share my knowledge with you to build connections and help you succeed just like I did throughout the years!

My teaching method goes as follows: I would like you to provide me with a list of concepts and notes if available and I will spend half of the class explaining these concepts to you in detail and using mnemonics to help you remember. In the second half of the class, we will be going over any questions you may have as well as real-life applications to get you thinking deeper about concepts. As a student myself, I have excelled in finding ways to make content easier to explain in a sense that relates it to your everyday life. I will also provide you with content from my previous classes that will make it easier for you to understand as well as expose you to a broader range of concepts. I would also be happy to work through past exam/ quiz questions to get you thinking about test content and strategies.
The lessons are targeted towards high school biology and college level biology specifically cell biology, microbiology and immunology, and microbial genetics.
