About Seb
I’m a recent graduate with a First-Class Master’s degree in Genetics from UCL, where I focused on evolutionary biology and phylogenomics. I previously worked as a preschool teacher, which sparked my passion for education, but I now want to teach in the subjects I specialise in and truly enjoy. With 11 A* GCSEs and A*A*A at A-level, I understand the demands of academic success and want to support others through it. As I prepare to apply for a PhD, tutoring allows me to share my knowledge, encourage curiosity, and help students build confidence in science at all levels.

My Tutoring Approach I base my tutoring on the effective study techniques and strategies that helped me achieve top grades in science subjects—so I understand the challenges students face and what works when it comes to exams. Having studied these subjects myself fairly recently, I can explain concepts in a clear, relatable way and share practical methods for revision, problem-solving, and exam technique. Lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style, whether that’s through diagrams, worked examples, or step-by-step explanations. I also focus on building confidence and helping students study smarter, not just harder. Lesson Format Sessions are usually 1 to 2 hours long, with time for a quick review, focused teaching, and practice or Q&A. I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive, and productive.
