About Thomas
I've been tutoring for a total of two years. I started off working as a mathematics tutor for students underperforming in their GCSE mathematics, and had 7 students during that time. They all reached their target grades. I'm a firm believer in hard work, and am more than willing to guide and motivate a student through their studies- tutoring isn't all about academic rigour, but it's about putting your students in the right frame of mind to perform as best they can.

Having just sat the newly reformed, more difficult A-Levels in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, I believe I am well-equipped to provide effective tuition to secondary and GCSE level students.
I take a different tone to most tutors and teachers, focusing on a concept known as flipped learning. I teach through examples, rather than talking at the student, then the student will receive a worksheet to do at home, which will be assessed the next week.
I have tutored students in the past, and in the most successful case, I managed to push one of my tutees to go from an E to a B grade in science.
I am very patient and easy-going, and my tutees have said it is easier to learn from someone slightly younger. Most of my tutoring experience is in mathematics, however Chemistry is what I plan to study at university, and I have also studied physics to A level too, so all three, I am happy to teach!
