About Maritza

As a recent psychology graduate with a background in education, and fluency in both Spanish and English, my approach as a tutor is tailoring my strategies and methods to the unique need of each individual. I am able to quickly understand how every learner is different and how to adapt my approach in order for them to succeed. I cater to students who prefer learning in either Spanish or English or need support in both languages.

I am culturally sensitive and can provide a comfortable learning environment for students from various backgrounds, helping bridge any language or cultural gaps.

In summary, my unique combination of psychology knowledge, education background, and bilingual proficiency positions me as a tutor who can provide tailored, engaging, and multilingual support for a wide range of students. I am dedicated to fostering not just knowledge but a lifelong passion for learning in my students.

About the class

Teaching Method and Techniques:
- My teaching method is based on customization. I will begin by assessing the student's learning needs and goals, allowing me to tailor my teaching method to each individual's requirements.
- Given my fluency in both Spanish and English, I can provide bilingual support to students who may require language assistance or instruction in either language.
- I will include active learning, such as hands-on activities and interactive discussions, to make the lesson dynamic.
- I use real-world scenarios to create relevance to the subject to increase relatability.

Typical Lesson Plan:
- Discussing learning objectives and previous knowledge about the subject.
- Presenting the core concepts of the session and explaining as many times as needed to ensure clear and thorough understanding.
- Have the student complete examples for each concept being discussed.
- Provide constructive feedback in the language of the student's choice, addressing any questions or concerns and creating a safe environment for the students to ask questions to feel confident about what they learned.
- Summarize takeaways from the lesson and potentially assign tasks for independent study

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
- My psychology background helps me understand students' different learning needs. I can adapt my teaching approach to meet those needs effectively.

- I create a nurturing and supportive learning environment, fostering a sense of safety for students to explore, ask questions, and make mistakes.

- My fluency in both Spanish and English allows me to connect with students more effectively and cater to a wider audience, making the learning process smoother and more accessible.

- Ultimately, my goal is to help students grasp the subject matter and acquire the skills and confidence to excel independently.

Who the Lessons Are For:
I can ideally assist students from primary school through elementary school, adapting my approach to suit the specific requirements of the grade level.

As a recent U.S. college graduate, I'm thrilled to share my expertise with you. I was born in the United States but raised in Colombia, which has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and e
