About Susmita
Hello!
I am a Bachelors graduate in Biotechnology as well as a Masters graduate in Advanced Biological Sciences. I’m currently employed as a Research Scientist in a Stem Cell company, so biology is a science I engage in every day. Aside from my academic qualifications, I believe that it is my genuine passion for science that makes me an effective tutor for students of all learning styles.
As a tutor, my goal is not to impress students with how much I know. Rather, my goal is to show my students how easily science concepts can come to them when they are presented the material in a straightforward way.

Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attributed to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up with the pace and workload that advanced courses demand or haven't figured out the best way to study for themselves. I am able to assess a student's shortcomings and formulate a plan for higher achievement.
The late physicist, Richard Feynman, posited that the ability to explain complicated ideas in a simple manner is the true mark of understanding. I agree with this assertion, and I make it my goal each tutoring session to explain even the most complex phenomena in a simple way, so that my student will come away from the lesson with confidence that they grasped the information.
The teaching strategy I believe in, emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. I have applied and faced success with this strategy while I was doing volunteer tutor work for the low-income and orphanage students.
