About Clive
Initially a mechanical engineer, I qualified with a Bachelor of Education (hons) degree in 1992 and became hooked on teaching. I enjoy interacting with my students and watching them have fun whilst growing in confidence and ability. I have extensive experience of helping students to improve their confidence and performance in speaking and writing English. I generally use casual conversation and online articles as a basis for my lessons to help improve reading and pronunciation skills and to increase vocabulary. I sometimes also ask students to prepare short written pieces of work to use as a basis to improve vocabulary, writing skills, grammar.
I have built up extensive experience helping foreign students to improve their vocabulary, understanding, listening and pronounciation. I believe that learning should be fun and constantly try to find fun ways of learning skills on an individual basis. Life is too short to fill it with tedious study.
