About Verity
With 20 years' experience of performing and teaching, I am an easy-going, friendly and engaging person who is passionate about sharing my knowledge of singing. Originally from Perth, Australia, my career started when I was 17 and accepted into the internationally acclaimed West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. I graduated with a Certificate IV in Jazz and a Diploma in Contemporary Music. Since leaving Perth in 2001 I have performed all over the world in many different bands with highly accomplished musicians. I have always taught singing alongside performing. Private lessons, tutoring at high schools and also performing arts schools for children. I have extensive experience teaching from 6 years old through to adults.

I can teach any age, from beginners to advanced, serious singers already performing or people that just want to sing for fun. I believe everyone can sing, like everything it just takes dedication, practice and a love for music. I customise my lessons to the individual depending on your level and your goals. Generally half the lesson will be focused on technique which consists of using exercises and scales to get to know your voice, expand your range, work through voice breaks, keep consistency in breath and tone and generally make sure you are singing with ease. The other half is then focused on learning and singing songs, perfecting, stylising, making them your own and getting them ready to perform.
