About Deepa
I hold a Master's degree in Pharmaceutics and have spent the past 2+ years teaching school-level Math (Vedic & Abacus). I got into tutoring because I noticed something simple: most students don't struggle with a subject itself — they struggle with how it was explained to them the first time. My job is to fix that.
Every student I work with gets a personalized approach, not a one-size-fits-all lesson plan. I take the time to understand where a student's confusion actually starts, rebuild that foundation clearly, and then build back up with plenty of guided practice — so concepts stick, not just for the next test, but for good.
I'm patient, structured, and genuinely invested in seeing my students improve — whether that means going from "confused" to "confident," or from "doing fine" to "excelling." I also keep parents/students in the loop on progress, so there are no surprises about how things are going.

I believe understanding beats memorization, especially in Math. My approach starts with breaking a topic down to its core idea before introducing formulas or shortcuts — so students know why something works, not just how to apply it. I use a lot of real-world examples and visual explanations to make abstract concepts concrete, especially for topics like [e.g., algebra, geometry, chemical reactions]. Every concept is followed by guided practice problems, moving from easy to harder difficulty, so students build confidence before tackling exam-level questions. I also encourage students to explain their reasoning back to me — if they can teach it back, I know it's actually understood, not just copied.
