About Alexandra

"Having worked on popular television dramas and films such as "Young Lions”, "All Saints,”and “XMen,” Alex brings a unique perspective to her acting classes. Her firsthand experience in the demanding world of television and movie production allows her to share practical knowledge and anecdotes that resonate deeply with her students. She effortlessly connects the dots between the classroom and real-world acting scenarios, providing invaluable guidance on set etiquette, working with directors, and delivering compelling performances within tight time frames.
Alex's ability to seamlessly blend her professional experiences with her teaching is a testament to her exceptional communication skills. She has a natural gift for articulating complex acting concepts in a way that is accessible and relatable. Whether she's discussing the nuances of character development, script analysis, or on-set dynamics, Alex's explanations are always clear, concise, and filled with enthusiasm."

About the class

I'm an actor, writer and director who has been in the Film/TV Industry for over 25 years. Whether you are a beginner or have some professional acting experience, it's important to keep flexing the acting muscle. Much like an athlete trains for their sport, we need to train our acting muscles to be ready for that next exciting role! So come join me for an acting workout! As your coach, I will inspire you to take your work to the next level!

Aside from having years of professional experience as an actor, I have also been a tutor since 2010, working for Screenwise film and tv school across all courses including the Advanced Diploma.

I also run private 1 hr sessions at my home in Woollahra to:

1) Self tape for showreel
2) Self tape for auditions
3) US dialect session
4) General coaching

My approach is to get you to aim towards having an honest experience in your work. In other words learn to act without 'Acting' Find the truthful existence and spontaneous way to play.

I also quickly tap into what are your default settings and push you out of your comfort zones to find deeper choices in your work.

Alex has been so helpful! She helped me prepare for an audition and gave me really clear, practical direction that made me feel so much more confident going into my self-tape. She’s incredibly supportive, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I’d definitely recommend her to any actor looking for coaching!

Alex was one of our tutors in our year-long professional screen acting course and, hands down, was the best tutor we had. I have since also had private sessions with her, starting with a last-minute audition, which she quickly found time to help me with!

What I love about Alex is not only her skill, professionalism and expertise, but also her boundless energy, passion and humour. But not everyone who can do can teach - and here is where Alex is exceptional. Her pointed, insightful feedback really helps me learn every time I work with her. Couldn’t recommend Alex more!
