About Ana

I have a PhD in Spanish literature, and personally, love learning foreign languages. I have experience teaching HS Spanish and dual credit at college courses. Spanish is my native language. Currently, I am teaching from home --which I found very pleasing. I am easygoing despite my nerdiness. I enjoy 'breaking the code' of learning things seemingly difficult into easy tasks and have my students find their sweet learning spot. I make my students learn by catering to different neuro-linguistic learning styles. I will be happy to assist you with my teaching experience and linguistic talents. Lastly, I am a certified Medical interpreter and enjoy teaching Medical Spanish as well.
Would you like to learn Spanish today?

About the class

I help my students get the confidence and fluency with commonly used dialogs in the professional encounters. Once you learn to flap your wings and fly solo in small scenarios, the linguistic growth becomes monumental. I also enjoy tutoring the infamous AP Spanish literature if you need support on passing the examination. I teach the cultural context and historical background of the literature lessons that just makes sense and help students retain and learn better the books.

Perfect! The demo class was efficient, and Ana's demeanor was warma and amiable. She quickly identified blindspots that my prior informal study had left me, and developed a plan to address them systematically. I'm looking forward to our next class.

Ana's response
Keith is a forever learner. I'm sure he could learn Spanish from anyone, and even on his own-- if he wanted to. He is highly analytical and self aware of his learning process. Keith recognizes and anticipates linguistic patterns, word roots, suffixes, and conjugations almost immediately. He possesses a great sense of humor and quickly recovers from his mistakes with a wit. It's very pleasant to facilitate language and culture to Keith because he intelligent, well rounded academically and very adaptable. A perfect student for any tutor.

Perfect! I recently had my first tutoring session with Ana, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. As someone new to learning conversational Spanish, I was a bit nervous, but Ana's warm and welcoming demeanor immediately put me at ease.
Ana began the session by conducting a thorough analysis of my current Spanish speaking abilities. This personalized approach allowed her to understand my strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that each subsequent lesson would be tailored to my needs.
Throughout the session, Ana provided not only valuable feedback but also practical advice on how to improve my conversational skills. Her expertise and guidance were evident as she effortlessly explained complex grammar concepts and pronunciation nuances. Ana's ability to break down the language barriers and make the learning process enjoyable was truly commendable.
What truly stood out to me was Ana's unwavering support and encouragement. She created a safe and nurturing environment where I felt comfortable making mistakes and taking risks. Her positive reinforcement helped boost my confidence and motivated me to push myself further.
Ana also took the time to discuss our lesson strategy, outlining the topics and areas we would focus on in the coming sessions. This clear roadmap gave me a sense of direction and assurance that, with Ana's assistance, I would be speaking Spanish with confidence in no time.
Overall, my first tutoring session with Ana was nothing short of exceptional. Her expertise, patience, and genuine passion for teaching made the experience both productive and enjoyable. I am grateful to have found such an incredible tutor who is dedicated to helping me achieve my language goals.
I wholeheartedly recommend Ana to anyone seeking to learn Spanish in a supportive and effective manner. With her guidance, I am confident that my language skills will continue to flourish.

Ana's response
Brent is a lifelong learner and he is motivated to be immersed in not only Spanish language but culture. He has amazing critical thinking skills which guide him as a self taught learner. He reads Spanish literature in Spanish and researches whatever he won't understand. I wish all classrooms would have a Brent.

I have known Anaisabel since early 2001 on a personal and professional level. I have been a faculty, in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas at San Antonio, for over 15 years and can well appreciate the need for competent teachers in today’s classroom.

I must mention that Anaisabel is bright and has a definite intellectual bent. I have personal knowledge of this through sharing reading material with her, as well as through extensive conversations with her on a variety of topics. She is well-read, well-traveled, and has a cosmopolitan outlook which is definitely in her favor when dealing with varied viewpoints and diverse backgrounds in today’s classroom.
