About Ronald

I'm Ron, a first aid and pre-hospital care trainer in Suffolk.

I've been a volunteer Community First Responder with the East of England Ambulance Service for 6 years. I respond to 999 calls in my community and run monthly training for other responders. I've also worked as an event medic for 2 years.

I've taught Qualsafe First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid at Work and FREC 3 courses, and trained a workplace ambulance team.

My qualifications:
- Level 4 First Response Emergency Care (FREC 4)
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training
- Mental Health First Aider (MHFA England)
- Advanced Provider member of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (RCSEd)

About the class

Lessons are one-to-one, online, and built around what you need. That might be confidence for everyday life, a refresher, or preparing for a responder course.

Topics I can cover:
- CPR and using a defibrillator
- Choking, bleeding and shock
- The primary survey: what to check first, and in what order
- Recognising a heart attack, stroke, seizure, asthma attack or severe allergic reaction
- Secondary survey and vital signs, for responders and students working towards FREC
- Mental health awareness: spotting someone in crisis and starting the conversation

I use real situations from 999 calls and events, so you learn what actually happens, not just the textbook.

To be clear: these lessons are not a regulated qualification. If you need a workplace certificate (First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work), I'll tell you where to get one. Online lessons teach the knowledge. Skills like CPR also need hands-on practice on a manikin, and I'll point you to where you can get it.
