About Briar
My passion for piano began with a fascination for harmony, structure, and emotional storytelling through music. I completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and have 8 years of teaching experience working with students of different ages and skill levels. Over time, I have developed a balanced teaching approach that combines discipline with creativity to support both technical and artistic growth.
My teaching philosophy is based on clarity, patience, and structured progression. I believe in building strong fundamentals first and then gradually introducing more advanced concepts as students gain confidence. I focus on helping learners understand music deeply so they can interpret and express it naturally. This approach helps students become independent musicians over time.
Outside teaching, I continue practicing piano repertoire, exploring new compositions, and studying different musical styles. These experiences help me keep lessons fresh, practical, and inspiring. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing students grow from beginners into confident performers who can express emotion, accuracy, and musical depth in their playing. That transformation is what continues to drive my passion as an educator.

My piano lessons focus on developing strong technical skills while also encouraging musical expression and creativity. Intermediate learners develop coordination, fluency, expressive playing, and stronger reading skills. Advanced students work on interpretation, performance preparation, technical refinement, and stylistic development. Students preparing for exams, performances, or accompaniment receive structured practice plans. Continuous feedback ensures steady improvement over time.
Learning piano should feel calm, enjoyable, and motivating. My lessons create a supportive environment where students can learn at their own pace without pressure. Over time, learners gain confidence in reading music, playing with expression, and performing comfortably. My goal is to help students build both strong technical ability and a deep emotional connection with music.
