About Ryan M
I have a Ph.D. in Philosophy, and wrote my dissertation on Aristotle's rhetoric. I have been a professor in the US, Canada, Kenya, and Italy. I have been a dean of a graduate school, and a president of a college. In addition, I have given very many lectures on a range of topics, from AI, Philosophy, Ethics, and Education; I also have an advanced degree in Theology. I have lived and traveled all over the world, I have 5 children, and a passion for helping people understand the complicated world in which we live.

My lessons are focused on conversations and questions- the key is to walk with my students through the questions they might have. Sometimes this will lead to ancillary topics that we discover to be part of the question, sometimes it will resolve the question that we thought we had to answer. Practically: I will teach you how to think beyond the surface; how to look at data correctly, and make the proper inferences from it; how to be persuasive without becoming overbearing; I can teach logic, philosophy, critical thinking, essay writing, rhetoric, certain fields of math, engineering, principles of AI, algorithm and process design. I encourage curiosity and confidence-I am a firm believer that anything can be learned, and I aim to instill this confidence and ability in my students. No question is off the table, as tracking our interests through what we want to know shows the expansive nature of knowing anything at all.
