About Caspian
Hi, my name is Caspian, and I'm looking to gain teaching experience in the field of Religious studies, with the aim to have a career in academic theology.
Currently, I have just finished a Theology and Religion degree at the University of Oxford (and I achieved an A* at A level), and am just about to undertake a Science and Religion MSt at the University of Oxford.
My specialisms include Philosophical Theology (particularly 19th Century including Kierkegaard, Dostoyevsky, Nietzsche), Early Buddhism, The Gospels, Ethics, Science and Religion and Ecotheology. I also have undertaken studies in New Testament Greek, which gives me an insight into the foundations of the New Testament and how etymology (meaning and history of words) shapes the understanding of Biblical texts.
Whilst I might not have all the answers (I am not sure anyone does!), I would be happy to learn new concepts and help explain these to my potential students in a way that makes sense to them.

In my lessons, I generally take a problem-based approach and am happy to go through exam questions and topics that the student might struggle with. These lessons will last around an hour and are aimed at those who are currently working towards GCSE and A-Level RS qualifications. I have experience in running lessons and putting together essay plans, and am happy to tailor my lessons to the student's demands. I am also very happy to go beyond the GCSE and A-Level spec for those interested, and I have a very good base in a wide range of topics relating to Philosophy, Ethics and Theology.
