About Libby
I studied biochemistry at the University of Warwick, graduating with a First Class Honours. I then went on to complete a PhD in the field of ageing and structural biology at the University of Manchester. During this time I lived in halls as a warden and worked as an assistant tutoring medical students. For the past 10 years, I've worked as a consultant in Advanced Therapeutics, focused on antibody discovery, cell therapies, gene editing and molecular biology. I was the company expert on antibodies, cell engineering, CRISPR and cell therapies. And although I had a client-facing role (working with Europe's biggest biotech and biopharmaceutical companies), I also led training courses for my company and colleagues. I worked in a very fast-paced environment, but working with people, teaching and mentoring has always been my greatest passion, so I made the decision to work on my terms and embark on a tutoring journey. My lessons are driven by my students. Each series starts with an informal discussion where we explore your needs, passions, weak spots and together devise a customised plan to develop your skills and knowledge. I've taught many different kinds of people throughout my professional life and find that everyone is different. Lessons can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour 30. They can be discussion led, or we can plan our learning journey in the first session and I'll prepare a lecture format - everything is flexible and tailored to my students' request. I can teach any age, but as my knowledge is quite advanced, I am more suitable for undergraduates, postgraduates, professionals and later career professionals who want to expand their already existing knowledge. I can teach scientific skills and knowledge in immunology, oncology, gene editing etc... or we can focus on Sales and Selling, business development skills, time management, closing deals, prospecting tips and cold calling. I can also support career development skills, with vast experience of hiring (I've conducted over 30 interviews in the last few years), I can support interview prep, CV reviews, career development, sales and consulting training and business development.
