I am an undergraduate student majoring in math and computer science at Lewis and Clark. As an undergraduate double major in Mathematics and Computer Science, I am committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Drawing from my experience at the college tutoring center, I have honed an adaptive teaching style that prioritizes student needs and promotes active participation. I tend to open my lessons with a brief review of adjacent topics, as a way to build students' confidence. This is followed by a brief topic introduction and an extensive collaborative exploration. We then conclude with student reflection, allowing me to elucidate on confusion, and plan ways to foster curiosity. I believe that engagement is the key to effective learning. By creating a flexible and supportive classroom environment, I aim to empower students to take ownership of their learning journey.
