About Refiloe
Hi, I’m Refiloe Koloane, a third-year BCom Accounting student at Rhodes University. I only discovered my love for math in Grade 12, when I finally unlocked the “secret” to understanding it—since then, I’ve been unstoppable. Now, I’m passionate about helping others reach that same turning point. I believe every student can enjoy and excel in math with the right approach, and I’m here to guide them there.

My approach to private tutoring is student-centered and results-driven. I focus on creating a comfortable and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and make mistakes as part of the learning process. What makes me unique as a teacher is my ability to simplify challenging mathematical concepts and break them down into manageable steps, using real-life examples to make them relatable and easier to understand.
I am proficient in both English and Sesotho, and I can comfortably teach in either language, ensuring that language is never a barrier to learning.
A typical lesson with me includes a quick review of previous content, a step-by-step explanation of new topics, interactive problem-solving, and plenty of opportunities for practice with feedback. I also provide useful tips, memory aids, and exam strategies to help students succeed beyond the classroom.
