Ewan is a respected tutor in our community. He is highly recommended for his commitment and the quality of his lessons. An excellent choice to progress with confidence.
About Ewan
I studied Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics at A level before going to do a Chemistry degree, first at Durham and then a masters at Oxford. However there is much more to teaching than just being good at your subject.
I genuinely enjoy learning and want others to feel this too. Maths and science can often confuse people and I enjoy the challenge of finding new ways to describe ideas to people. Most of all I want to share my passion for my subject with others.
In terms of experience, most recently I have tutored my younger brother for through his A level maths for the last 2 years and during my DofE I volunteered an hour a week in a GCSE maths class, teaching portions of the lessons and helping students who were struggling.

Learning is a collaborative process. I find the best way to learn is through solving problems and real world examples. But everyone is different and my aim is to find the way that you learn best so that I can help you in the best way possible.
Very happy to work through a curriculum or work through specific topics you are finding difficult.

Ewan really helped me to understand difficult concepts in my A Level Maths. His tutoring provided a source of help when I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I would highly recommend him.
Ewan is a fantastic, easy-going tutor with an enjoyable approach to learning - he has tutored me (studying a degree in Biology) A Level chemistry, as I always struggled with this aspect of my degree. He strikes a great balance between encouraging independent thought and giving easy-to-understand guidance when needed. He is very attentive to my specific needs as a student, and I feel very comfortable voicing concerns or problems I would like to work through with him. Overall, Ewan is a brilliant tutor, with thorough and easy to grasp explanations supplemented with helpful exercises - I would recommend him for any level of study.
