Hi! I'm a University of Pennsylvania graduate with a bachelor's degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Classical Studies. I have three semesters of experience as an Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant, where I supported students through office hours, problem-solving sessions, and course material that many find challenging.
In addition to my academic experience, I was a varsity softball player at Penn, which taught me discipline, perseverance, and the value of teamwork. I have also mentored young college athletes, helping them balance academics and athletics while building confidence and effective study habits.
I understand that chemistry and biology can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I'm reliable, patient, and committed to helping each student build both confidence and a strong understanding of the material. I believe the best way to learn science is to understand the "why" behind each concept rather than simply memorizing facts. My teaching approach is patient, interactive, and tailored to each student's learning style. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, encourage questions, and use practice problems to build confidence and reinforce understanding.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student's goals and areas of difficulty. We then review key concepts, work through example problems together, and finish with independent practice and test-taking strategies. I also provide tips for studying efficiently and recognizing common mistakes.
As a University of Pennsylvania graduate with a bachelor's degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Classical Studies, I bring a strong academic foundation to every session.
