About Candace
Hi! I’m Candace Cheung, currently a 3rd-year medical student at the University of St Andrews. I have a strong academic background and a passion for helping students reach their full potential. Originally from Hong Kong, I studied at Diocesan Girls’ School (DGS) before continuing my education abroad at Havergal College in Toronto, Canada, where I graduated with First Class Honours. I’m fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and I’ve personally navigated both the Hong Kong and international education systems—so I understand the challenges students may face in both. Some of my academic achievements include: • UCAT: 2940 • ACT: 31/36 • TOEFL: 115/120 • IELTS: 8.0 • Deans’ List at St Andrews (awarded for academic excellence) • 96% average in the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) • Dorothy O’Dell Prize for Mathematics at Havergal College I have 3+ years of tutoring experience, working with children and teenagers across different age groups and abilities. I’ve also volunteered as a homework tutor for ethnic minority children and organised summer camps and activities for kids through church and community programmes.
