About Trudy
Because I had trouble deciding which scientific field I enjoyed most, I pursued an MSci in natural sciences; my degree covered a range of biological and chemical sciences, as well as a little bit of literature. I am currently looking forward to continuing my delvings into natural sciences by pursuing a PhD.

I am an experienced science tutor with a commitment to rekindling a love for learning and scientific curiosity in my students. I have a good understanding of working with students with autism and ADHD.
My teaching:
I have developed tutoring methods that are student-led but still cover the exam board syllabus. I understand each student learns differently, and it is my pleasure to help you discover how you learn best.
In my general teaching, I always first want my students to have a strong foundation in the subject they're learning, because even if it seems easy, because it is often a lack of confidence in the basics that lead to difficulties later. It's important to walk before you run.
Once a foundation is established, I like to teach students in the context of how what they do is used in the real world. One should never think "why do I need to learn this if it never gets used?".
I have experience working with neurodiverse students, and I myself have ADHD so know first-hand how important it is to have a tutor that understands and is willing to learn more about how to support you as an individual.

Details
I believe that education should be as accessible as possible. While I cannot offer free lessons (or discounted as I'd assume this makes things complicated with the agency) I can offer a buddy discount for in-person tuitions - if you bring another person who also needs tuition in the same subject and are willing to have it as a 2-to-1 session, I will charge the same amount as if it were just you and you can split the cost with them :)
I do not charge for travelling within a walking distance of where I live, but if longer than that, while still happy to travel, I may need to charge travel fees.
