About Kirsty
I am a native Cantonese speaker with both parents from Hong Kong, and Cantonese has been my primary spoken language at home since childhood. I grew up speaking Cantonese daily and studied Chinese on weekends alongside regular school, giving me a strong foundation in both spoken and written Chinese. My bilingual background allows me to explain Cantonese clearly and effectively to English-speaking students, particularly those learning as a second language or heritage learners. I understand the common challenges students face and focus on accuracy, pronunciation, and confidence from the start. I tutor because I genuinely enjoy mentoring and helping students develop practical language skills.
