About Avrey
Yoga has been my greatest teacher since I was fifteen years old. What began as a physical practice gradually became a lifelong path of healing, self-discovery, and purpose. Through years of daily practice, yoga has transformed not only the way I move, but the way I understand myself and navigate the world.
Movement has always been central to my life. I grew up as a dancer, and today I continue to study both ballet and flamenco while teaching a wide variety of movement classes within my community. My background in dance deeply influences the way I teach yoga—bringing creativity, body awareness, balance, and expression into every class.
As a Native woman, my cultural roots have profoundly shaped my relationship with yoga. I am continually exploring the connections I personally see between the values I was raised with and the teachings of Buddhism and yoga philosophy. While these traditions are distinct, both encourage me to cultivate mindfulness, respect for the natural world, humility, community, and a lifelong commitment to learning. This ongoing exploration has become an important part of both my personal practice and my teaching.

I believe each of us holds an incredible capacity for growth, transformation, and inner strength. My intention as a teacher is to create a welcoming space where students feel supported in exploring their own journey, whether they come to the mat seeking physical strength, emotional healing, stress relief, or deeper self-understanding. Yoga reminds us that the greatest transformation begins within, and that every breath offers a new opportunity to reconnect with ourselves.
