About Mengqing
As a native speaker in both Mandarin and Cantonese, I am passionate about exploring the history and culture behind these complex yet elegant languages. During primary school, my mother would buy textbooks taught in the Chinese curriculum and teach me at home. Every summer holiday I would fly back to mainland China to participate in the end-of-semester exams up until grade 6. Despite not being able to access many resources, I still scored higher than 70% of local students.
In my final years of high school where I undertook Chinese as one of my University entrance exam subjects, I exceeded over 91% of my peers in Victoria, Australia.
