About Joshua

I began meditating daily at age 13 because quite frankly I realized that life wasn't the easiest. Like many, stress and boredom were an all too frequent occurrence, so I turned to meditation. In the past I had turned to other things in the face of stress, I may have sought out food or turned on the television. But there came a critical moment when I realized that I needed to find a different way to meet life. When I began daily meditation practice I started having very peaceful experiences that inspired me to continue practice. Now I meditate 3 times a day 1 hour each and it's a great way to stay balanced amidst the ups and downs of life. When I'm leading students through meditation I'm always surprised by how powerful mindfulness is. They may come in distracted and worried but after just a few moments of sitting and watching the breath, everything becomes clearer and wonderfully simple. It's a great reminder that peace is always right here, simply waiting to be discovered.

About the class

I guide anyone looking to begin their meditation and mindfulness practice and can help anyone looking to deepen their practice. Each session will involve a meditation practice - be it mindfulness of breathing, mindfulness of body, mindfulness of the senses, or loving-kindness. The focus will always involve cultivating a gentle awareness and an experience of letting go.
I may also suggest resources that I think will be beneficial such as books or online classes.
Our time together also includes space for discussion, reflection and practice questions, providing clarity on both the practice itself and a deeper understanding of ourselves.
I have also developed a mindfulness and meditation app for anyone interested
