About Sami
I am a second-year Medical Student at the University of Edinburgh. I have 2 years of tutoring experience, during which I have helped over 20 students achieve their academic goals.
I’ve consistently achieved top grades, including straight As at National 5 and Higher, and ABB at Advanced Higher.
Having spent years studying Chemistry and helping others along the way, I understand how overwhelming it can sometimes feel. My teaching style is clear, patient, and student-focused. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then build a personalised lesson plan that targets their goals. Complex chemistry concepts are broken down clearly and simply, using real examples and analogies that make the material easier to understand. We work through practice questions together, with step-by-step explanations that model how to approach and solve problems effectively. Students are then encouraged to apply what they've learned independently, helping to reinforce their understanding and boost their confidence.
Throughout our sessions, I place a strong emphasis on exam technique — including how to approach different question types, manage time effectively, and structure answers for full marks. These skills often make a key difference in achieving high grades.
My teaching style is patient and supportive, creating a space where students feel confident asking questions and engaging fully with the material. By the end of each lesson, students leave with a clear understanding of what they've learned and practical steps to keep improving.
