About Laura
Currently just finished first year as a medical student, I have been tutoring family friends for the past year regarding the three main sciences (physics up to AS standard). Additionally, I have been tutoring students who play the violin for the past 3 years during the summer holidays so children do not forget the correct technique when playing this beautiful instrument. I have played in various venues across England including the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC proms so therefore have a lot of experience.

I base my teaching on visual representation such as pictures of photos and learning from a more engaging aspect which encourages focus, this then leads to children and teenagers becoming more eager and excited to learn something that may initially be boring. I also use the technique called “active recall” which I have developed from attending medical school, this is where you focus on something small and repeat it daily for a week, then once a fortnight and then once a month. This imbeds detail into long term memory and is scientifically proven to be the best way to learn information.
