I have a passion for mathematics that tends to be contagious. I love the process of helping someone understand something they didn't before, that 'eureka' moment where it finally clicks. My method is less exam-focused and more comprehension-focused. First I make sure they know how to solve the problem, then I explain how and why it works. I am quite patient, so if this process requires more than one session I will keep notes to make sure the student isn't getting lost or falling behind. Of course passing exams is always the priority, but comprehension helps when you're under pressure... Like, in an exam! I will focus on developing understanding and confidence. When both are achieved, exams won't seem so intimidating :)
