About Tansy
As a Mathematics Undergraduate student, I thoroughly enjoy teaching Maths to students. It really excites me to know that as I learn and expand my knowledge of the field, I can help others to do so too, in a way that both benefits their grades, and also establishes a love for the subject that can increase confidence in the content or even just the ability to attempt more arduous questions. As a young mathematician myself, I love the thought of inspiring more students to pursue a high quality understanding of Maths.

As a Mathematics Undergraduate, I have seen a variety of abilities across my studies so I believe in the flexibility of approaching teaching at a pace that best suits the student's goals and their previous experience with the subject, in order to boost their confidence. This is whilst also ensuring that the basics of the subject are held in place so any potentially difficult questions are immediately more easy to tackle! We will get to grips with topics that seem more daunting by starting from the beginning and identifying where any misunderstandings lie.
Typical length of a lesson is 60-120 minutes, depending on the content and the student’s attention span! I am aware that Maths often contains obscure subjects that are hard to get your head around, so I am willing to tailor my lessons to the pace of the student - longer (or shorter!) lessons are available upon request. I am available to teach students of any age, from 8-18; it’s never too early or too late to extend proficiency in Maths!
