About Harper
My interest in Mathematics began with a fascination for patterns, logical structures, and analytical problem-solving. I pursued an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics to strengthen both my understanding of advanced mathematical concepts and my ability to teach them effectively. Over 12 years of teaching experience, I have guided students across elementary school math, middle school math, SAT math preparation, and introductory Calculus, helping them gain clarity, confidence, and independent problem-solving skills. I teach with patience, attentiveness, and adaptability, tailoring explanations to each student’s learning style using visual models, practical examples, and stepwise reasoning. I encourage questions and foster an environment where mistakes are valued as opportunities for growth, helping students develop resilience and self-assurance. Outside the classroom, I actively engage in mathematics through problem-solving, curriculum development, and ongoing study. Teaching Math is deeply rewarding because I witness learners grow in logical reasoning, independence, and confidence. Supporting students in realizing their potential and achieving mastery is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

Mathematics becomes meaningful and enjoyable when learners are guided to understand the reasoning behind each concept. My lessons cover elementary school math, middle school math, geometry, algebra, SAT math, and Calculus, emphasizing logical progression, step-by-step reasoning, and practical problem-solving strategies. I create a calm, structured environment where learners can explore ideas, ask questions, and gradually build confidence and skill in tackling mathematical challenges.
Lesson content is carefully designed according to the student’s level. Elementary school math focuses on number sense, arithmetic, and interpreting word problems. Middle school math introduces geometry, proportional reasoning, and foundational algebra with visual aids and interactive exercises. Advanced learners tackle algebraic manipulation, SAT math preparation, and introductory Calculus concepts, with focus on accuracy, logical reasoning, and practical application. Carefully chosen exercises reinforce understanding while fostering independent thinking and confidence.
Maths lessons also cultivate patience, analytical thinking, and persistence. As learners gain clarity and logical insight, they become more independent and capable of tackling unfamiliar problems. Many students come to see mathematics as structured, approachable, and intellectually rewarding. My goal is to help learners feel confident, motivated, and capable of achieving mastery in all areas of mathematics.
