About Fiona
My fascination with Mathematics began with a love for patterns, logical reasoning, and analytical problem-solving. I pursued an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics to deepen my understanding of advanced concepts and enhance my teaching methods. Over 12 years, I have guided students from elementary school math through middle school, SAT math preparation, and introductory Calculus, helping them gain clarity, confidence, and independent problem-solving abilities. I teach with patience, adaptability, and careful observation. I tailor explanations to each learner’s style using visual models, stepwise reasoning, and practical examples. I encourage curiosity and treat mistakes as opportunities for growth, building resilience, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Outside the classroom, I actively engage in mathematics through problem-solving, curriculum development, and ongoing study. Teaching Math is deeply fulfilling because I witness learners develop independence, logical reasoning, and self-assurance. Supporting students in achieving mastery and realizing their potential is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Lesson content is customized to the learner’s level. Elementary school math focuses on number sense, arithmetic, and interpreting word problems. Middle school math introduces geometry, proportional reasoning, and foundational algebra. Advanced learners work on algebraic techniques, SAT math strategies, and introductory Calculus, emphasizing accuracy, logical reasoning, and application. Carefully selected exercises reinforce understanding and foster independent problem-solving skills. Math lessons also cultivate patience, analytical thinking, and perseverance. As learners gain clarity, they approach unfamiliar challenges independently and confidently. Many students develop an appreciation for mathematics as a structured, logical, and rewarding subject. My goal is to help learners feel confident, motivated, and capable in all areas of mathematics.
