About Ha-eun
I have been surrounded by music my whole life and have played violin for 24 years. I went to high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy, obtained a BM in violin performance at Oberlin Conservatory and an MM at the Boston Conservatory. I have won competitions, played in professional orchestras, and soloed with orchestras. I had the great fortune of studying with wonderful teachers and strive to be like them and pass on their wisdom. I am passionate about teaching out of a desire to help people grow and express themselves.

I teach folks of all ages and skill levels: from kindergarten age to those in retirement; from having never done any music to those preparing for conservatory.
I emphasize building core understanding and technique (e.g. rhythm is universal, have only necessary tension, a good bowhold will unlock beautiful tone). Beyond fundamentals, I always aim to collaborate with my students to form reachable goals. I tailor my approach to those goals and a student's personality to make sure that the level of rigor is appropriate.

Perfect! Ha-Eun was a fantastic teacher for the violin. Saw my ability playing violin skyrocket after taking classes from her. Very knowledgeable and an excellent person to learn violin from.
Perfect! My 14 year old daughter is very excited to be working with Ha-eun. She is energetic and fun while being extremely knowledgeable and detail-oriented. We are excited for her teaching to help our daughter take her violin playing to the next level.
