About Safaa
My name is Safaa, and I’m an aspiring dentist, and am currently studying at a grammar school, doing my A Levels in maths, biology and chemistry. I did my GCSEs just last year and achieved a grade 8 in maths, only being a couple of marks away from a grade 9, as well as my other GCSE grades being between grades 6-9. Having recently gone through the exam process, I understand the challenges students face as I myself struggled with maths during early years of secondary, and to achieve these amazing grades, I had to change my study techniques and put in the commitment to fully understand the content and get the grades I wanted, as tutors around me didn’t help much. I would like to share these skills with you, so you can achieve the best possible grades.

I teach GCSE maths both foundation and higher and can also do secondary school tutoring if you would like and it’ll be one-to-one lessons online. In my lessons, I will begin by solidifying content and aim to teach whatever the student is currently struggling with at school, or if they would like, I’ll start from the beginning of the GCSE specification depending on how much time is left towards their exam. It’ll be delivered in a structured but flexible manner to suit each student’s needs using interactive whiteboards and screen sharing to explain concepts clearly. I will provide step-by-step guidance, working through problems together to ensure understanding, and then at the end I’ll give them practice questions to do and if they need help with any of those, I’ll aim to explain it thoroughly and effectively. Each lesson will be tailored to the student’s learning style, with plenty of practice questions and feedback. For homework, I’ll give my students exam questions for them to complete as I know this is very useful to try and maximise the exposure to exam-style questions, as lots of similar questions come up in the exam, which I know the importance of, as having done my GCSEs last year and preparing for it. We will mark these questions at the start of each lesson. I will aim to give tips and tricks for questions wherever I can as I know the importance of knowing techniques to ace all questions. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident in tackling all kinds of maths problems, as I know maths is tough which is why I want to share all my knowledge and use my skills to make you better at it. I have flexible teaching hours (after school of course) and on weekends as well, whatever is suitable for you, and depending on my availability.
