Taekwondo Classes near me With Fees in Gorakhpur

Taekwondo originates in Korea, and its roots reach back many centuries.

• Ancient roots: Korean arts such as taekkyeon influenced today's footwork and kicking techniques.
• The name: Tae stands for foot, kwon for fist and do for way, which gives the art its name.
• Modern form: Korean masters standardised the art in the 1950s and 1960s, giving it the structure we know today.
• Global spread: Today it is practised in many countries and has been an Olympic medal sport since 2000.

With a personal coach, you learn the culture behind the kicks as well as the moves themselves.

In Korean, a taekwondo training hall is known as a dojang.

• Meaning: Literally, dojang means a place where you practise the way.
• Etiquette: You normally bow at the entrance, then remove your shoes before stepping onto the mat.
• Layout: The floor is soft to protect you during kicks and falls, and mirrors help you check your form.
• Key titles: Students address their instructor as sabeom-nim, and senior students often guide the beginners.
