About Sherry

Hi, I’m Sherry! I’m a data professional based in London, with experience using analytical and technical skills in a professional environment. I grew up in Honduras, studied at university in the United States and began my career there before moving to London six years ago.

I enjoy working with data and particularly like the problem-solving side of SQL and Python. I know that learning to code can initially feel overwhelming, especially when you’re faced with unfamiliar syntax or an error message that seems to make no sense! My aim is to break those concepts down and explain them in a clear, practical and approachable way.

I’m passionate about learning in general and enjoy helping others develop new skills. I want my lessons to be a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through problems rather than simply being given the answer.

Whether you’re completely new to SQL and Python, learning for university, developing your skills for work or considering a career involving data, I’d love to help you build your knowledge and confidence.

About the class

My lessons focus on learning SQL and Python through practical, real-world examples, rather than simply memorising syntax. I’ll explain concepts clearly, work through examples with you, and then give you the opportunity to solve problems yourself with guidance along the way.

For SQL, we can cover topics such as queries, filtering, joins, aggregations, subqueries and working with datasets. For Python, lessons can include the fundamentals as well as using tools such as Pandas for data cleaning, manipulation and analysis.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes and can be adapted to your experience and goals. They are particularly suitable for beginners, students and professionals who want to develop practical data skills for work, study or their own projects.

My aim is to make technical concepts feel approachable and help you understand not only how to write SQL or Python, but why you would use a particular approach.
