• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I teach Hindi and Punjabi, and I have been passionate about languages and communication for many years. I enjoy helping students understand not only the language but also its everyday use, vocabulary, pronunciation and cultural context. Over the years, teaching different students has made me even more interested in making language learning simple, practical and enjoyable.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My biggest motivation is seeing students improve and become more confident. I love the feeling when a student who initially finds something difficult starts understanding and using it independently. Teaching also gives me the opportunity to connect with people from different backgrounds and help them achieve their learning goals.

• How does your work help society?

  Language connects people. By teaching Hindi and Punjabi, I help students communicate with their families, understand their culture and feel more connected to their roots. I believe that learning a language also creates better understanding between people from different cultures and backgrounds.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My role models are teachers who are patient, supportive and genuinely care about their students. They inspire me because good teaching is not only about explaining a topic; it is also about encouraging students, understanding their difficulties and helping them believe in themselves.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside teaching, I enjoy creating content, learning new things, spending time with my family and exploring creative activities. I also enjoy working on digital content and improving my communication and creative skills.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One of the most rewarding parts of my teaching journey has been seeing students gradually become more confident. I have taught students who initially struggled to speak or understand certain words, but with regular practice and encouragement, they started participating more actively in lessons. Moments like these remind me why I enjoy teaching so much.
