About Ewan
I've graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a first class Hons degree in Jazz Piano, play with several of the leading bands and artists in the Scottish Jazz, Hip-hop, Singer-songwriter, folk, trad, Brazilian, ambient/electronic, RnB, Soul, Free Improv (etc) scenes - bands/artists such as Tao, MODERNISTIC, Becca Sloan, Terra Kin, Bletherin, Noo.Vision, Arianne Mamon, Making Nature etc. I also regularly compose and record my own music and that of my peers and my approach to the piano and keyboards is very versatile. I'm regularly performing and cultivating my own musical praxis, so have developed many tools to aid this process. That being said, I don't believe in shortcuts. I'm here to help guide you on the path to more musical freedom: we will set goals together and explore exercises and different ways of approaching the instrument as well as different music and simply ways of thinking about music, but inevitably you will have to put in the time to solidify these things. Whether you want to gain enough confidence to play at a jam with people, audition for a course, hone/expand your already experienced skills or simply have fun at home, we can set goals together and work towards them taking every lesson with a focus on your own growth.
