About Daniel
I've been writing code since I was a kid, probably around 8 or 9 years old. What started as a hobby turned into a career pretty naturally. I did coding camps growing up, studied Computer Science in school, interned at companies out in Silicon Valley, and have been working professionally in backend and cloud infrastructure engineering for the past 6 years. All told I've got about 15 years of experience across every level of the industry, from wide-eyed student to senior engineer.
Outside of work I've always been into game development as a hobbyist; I've built things in Unity, Roblox, and Python over the years just because I enjoy it. That side of my experience is actually a big part of why I got into tutoring. It turns out there aren't many people who can teach kids real programming concepts through the games and tools they're already excited about.
Having started so young myself, I know firsthand how much of a head start it gives you when you grow up thinking in code. I also remember how easy it is to lose a kid's attention if you teach it the wrong way. I keep things hands-on, I'm patient, and I genuinely enjoy working with people. Whether that's a 10-year-old building their first game or an adult picking up programming for the first time, I'll be able to meet you halfway and ensure you have a productive learning session.

I'm a software developer with over 15 years of hands-on experience and 6 years building enterprise applications professionally on products that have incorporated cloud architecture, testing, CI/CD, and the works. I also have deep experience with things like Roblox and Luau, scripting with python, and game development with Unity, amongst other hobbyist platforms which makes me one of the few tutors who can teach kids to build real games on a platform they already love, while actually learning programming fundamentals that transfer to any language.
I offer lessons for kids, teens, and adults at any skill level. For younger students, I focus on project-based learning through whatever language or platform they want to learn, whether it be C#, Python, Lua, or any other platform they're interested in. You will build something playable in the first session to reinforce the learning of important concepts rather than just lists of concepts like a youtube college course. For adults and career-changers, I cover practical development skills from the ground up or help you level up in specific areas.
Every lesson plan is built around you. I don't follow a one-size-fits-all script, which allows us to out how you learn best and adjust as we go.
