About Mariya
Hi, My name is Mariya and I am currently a final year medical student at Cardiff University. Getting into medical school can be a long and stressful road, but as someone who also hit a few speedbumps on the way I would love to help prospective students out in any way I can, whether its with the application, the entrance test or getting the A level/ GCSE grades they need. I was recently one of the interviewers for the Cardiff MMI's for prospective year one students so I'm also available for medical school interview preparation.
I specialise in A level chemistry as an A grade in this subject is a must in UK medical schools.
I have had many students write amazing reviews about my lessons and I feel so grateful that I can help in any way that I can. Many of my previous students have reached A and A* grades at A Level and GCSE and one of my students was just accepted into medical school!
My lessons are interactive, the student picks a topic that they are struggling with and I make a lesson plan (that the student can also download for their personal notes), I go through the lesson and make sure the student can recall the content before moving on to exam style questions. For the exam questions we go through technique (subjects such as biology are more about the wording of answers rather than just knowledge) and how to achieve the best result possible.
I understand that my lesson price is high but this is due to the amount of preparation I do for each lesson, the student will leave with a high quality set of notes and an understanding of how to get every mark out of exam questions. This is a long and painstaking process but as a former student who achieved a lot of A*s, I know this is the best way to learn.
I finish off my lessons with a few exam questions that the student does by themselves to test their understanding of the subject and we mark these questions together.
