About Sultan
I am a passionate individual who loves to learn. As someone who currently researches for a living, I have developed key skills that allowed me to work smart, not just hard. One of the things that I learned during my PhD is that I am very capable at explaining complex concepts in a simple way. My experience as an associate tutor/mentor to undergraduate students sparked my interest in tutoring and I wish to continue this now. I like to tailor my lessons for the individual as each student learns differently. As someone with previous tutoring experience (from ages 8-16), I have learned that it is better to ask the student where their difficulties lie and what they hope to get from the lesson.
Primarily, I like to show my working as I teach so that they can clearly understand the process. I provide examples, guide them as they attempt, and give critical feedback of their work. I also like to familiarise myself with the subject syllabus and recommended reading, so I can tailor the lesson for what they would expect within their exams.
