The method I used during my time as a teacher was to bring the student to love the language and not to see the study as an end in itself. The important thing is to immerse yourself completely in it, from the initial levels, so as to get used to its sound and its grammatical structure. I prefer to emphasize speech rather than writing and to use games designed to train the imaginative side of the mind. Obviously in the case of exams focused on grammar I would have no problem giving explanations about it. On request I can write application letters in German or help with the preparation of diploma and / or university essay papers if you are a student at a tourism / language institute.
