About Matthew
I have held a variety of jobs growing up, including being a youth soccer referee, a convenience store team member, and a high school sports commentator. I became a tutor during my second year of university studies and have been one every academic semester since then. Over this span of time, I have had the privilege of working with a variety of students and subjects, from 8th grade ISEE prep to graduate-level theology. Prior to Superprof, I primarily tutored on Varsity Tutors, and before that, I was a tutor through my undergraduate institution's tutoring center. I am a graduate student at the New School for Social Research studying Philosophy with a concentration in Psychoanalytic Studies. Tutoring has given me the opportunity to connect with people over material that I am deeply moved by. I love tutoring because I get to share knowledge that I am passionate about and create meaningful connections with students that often are no longer present in our current educational system. In practice, this means that I will learn about how you connect with academic material and what you struggle with, always prioritizing those crucial and personal details over everything else.
