About Caitlin

I am a BA graduate from UCD. I studied English and Drama Studies for 4 years so that I could continue to do my PME the following year. I always wanted to be a teacher as I dealt with the ups and downs of school a lot, due to my hearing loss. Not many teachers wanted to give me an extra helping hand due to my loss and so I had to find ways to keep up with the work I was missing out on in class. This led to late nights, extra study hours and researching poems and novels, down to the smallest detail. This continued into college also, but I had a lot more aids during college to help myself. I want to be able to help other students who are finding it difficult to keep up, for whatever the reason may be, let it be personal or not.

I am a very vocal and hands on tutor. I like my students to have all the information when studying, as it makes the approach to the exam questions easier and inquisitive thinking comes naturally to them during tutoring sessions. I was top of my class in the Leaving Cert and graduated with a 2nd Class Honours in my BA in UCD. I understand the pressures of exam season, hence why I find giving students all the information they need helps to lighten the load. This way, they can focus on the important aspects of studying: the questions.
