About Claire
Hello! My name is Claire and I have recently graduated with a first class degree from the University of Edinburgh where I studied Sociology and Social Anthropology (MA Hons). I learnt French in school and then developed this whilst working in Switzerland as an au pair for one year. I just got back from teaching English in two high schools in France where I was living for three months. I am from Glasgow, and I am currently based there, working part-time as an online tutor which I have been doing for over three years now. My degree entailed seeking to understand the social world and how humans move through it in alternating ways. I think this has given me a unique, open-minded perspective which I bring to my teaching by making sure my lessons are truly tailored to how a particular student understands their own world and therefore how they learn. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring as I believe it is immensely satisfying, and it is a great way to interact with people from all walks of life.
