About Amy
I have a bachelor's in English as well as a master's in literary and cultural studies. Both in undergrad and graduate school I was a TA for writing classes and have extensive knowledge in how to support students in these rigorous learning environments. I have also tutored students from a wide range of ages for several years through online platforms. I seek to always be educational, engaging, humorous, and invested in the success of everyone I work with.

I work with my students to help bridge any gaps between what's taught in the classroom and application in homework or real life situations. For writing lessons, and depending on what stage of writing you're at, I will ask for the prompt and whatever brainstorming or writing you've completed so I can read through and be sure to have a thorough understanding before working together. Once that is completed, I like to go through questions or thoughts you have and then collaborate to understand the grammatical, content, and structure needs of the assignment.
I follow a similar format for cover letter and resume writing and will ask details about the job you're applying to so we can be sure to tailor your information to that company/type of position.
I enjoy being involved with my students and promise to be invested in your success! I can work with children as young as 10 up through graduate level courses. I have specific knowledge in literary theory, essay writing, and ESL writing courses.
