About Jess
I am someone who likes to get to know people and share my passion for science at the same time, so tutoring fits this perfectly. As someone who's been through the ups and downs of passing exams and getting to grips with complex ideas, I understand how hard it can be to feel completely stuck on something and feel like a subject just isn't for you. This is why I think tutoring is such a useful asset; it can relight a passion for something if there is someone by your side making an explanation easier or providing reassurance on an answer. Being able to have a big-picture view of a science is also incredibly helpful when explaining things, as it's very easy to have a limited picture when thinking about a concept, wondering how it fits in. My extensive experience in biology and chemistry makes me able to think wider and give more clarity on a topic.

Lessons can be from an hour upwards, with my knowledge of GCSE and A level sciences. Lessons can be catered towards any general questions or weak areas of Key Stage 4 or 5 science (GCSE or A level). If there are particular questions you struggle with, I am also able to work through these with you. I can also provide planned lessons if you don't know where to start with learning or understanding a topic.
I think practice papers, targeted questions, and visual aids are the key to success in something as complex as biology. These are the things I have seen help other students and myself.
As someone who has already tutored in person with children of all ages, I understand how concepts are hard to grasp and finding which way works best to suit your learning style is one of the most important things when it comes to learning science or anything!
My lessons are geared towards anyone who is taking science in school, provided they are able to attend online lessons. GCSE students will be my priority, but A level candidates and pre-GCSE students are also more than welcome.
