About Louis
Hey! I'm Louis Vanhove, and I'm currently studying my last year at Howest (Digital Arts & Entertainment: Independent Game Production). This major is #1/#2 in the world, so the standards for quality work are quite high. My bachelor's thesis on a programming topic was the best of the past three years out of all students. Before this, I graduated in Latin-Mathematics while I was a youth leader on the side; I'm someone who gets along well with everyone. I really enjoy helping people and especially sharing my knowledge in a fun way.

To learn as a student you first have to understand the goal of what you are learning, so you immediately understand the concept better. Many people try to get into the details but it is very important to first understand the big picture. For these reasons I find it important as a teacher (+- 4 years of experience) to first ask the student what he/she already knows before I explain the goal and concept. Only then come the details, step-by-step, so that everyone can follow along, even without a mathematical/programming background. I am currently studying at University of Applied Sciences Howest (in my final year) for game development, where mathematics/physics is important. Furthermore it is an international school, so I also know how to deal with everyone, no matter what situation they come from. My lessons are mainly intended for high school students / freshmen. I am currently also an official tutor for students at my university.

Ik kan Louis van harte aanbevelen als bijles docent. Tijdens zijn studie heb ik hem leren kennen als een zeer leergierige en gedreven student die enorm veel passie toonde. Louis is een uitstekende bijlesgever wiskunde. Hij legt alles helder en geduldig uit, waardoor moeilijke onderwerpen ineens veel begrijpelijker worden. Dankzij zijn hulp heb ik mijn vertrouwen in wiskunde sterk zien groeien. Echt een aanrader!
De lessen waren altijd super tof, heb een heel semester leren programmeren met Louis en de kwaliteit is top. Het geld zeker waard!
Als docent van Louis was het altijd aangenaam om naar zijn presentaties te luisteren. Helder, duidelijk en motiverend. Een drang om zijn onderwerpen van binnen en buiten te kennen zorgt ervoor dat hij deze ook op een verstaanbare manier kan overbrengen naar zijn publiek. Louis snapt het, en wil dan ook dat de studenten die hij aanspreekt het snappen.
Ik ben oud-leerling, we zaten vroeger samen op universiteit, ik was in mijn eerste jaar en hij in zijn derde.
Ik had dringend hulp nodig met programmeren en applied math (wiskunde). Hij was altijd vriendelijk en geduldig, de lessen voelden nooit aan als een chore of saai of zoiets. Hij heeft me snel geholpen om de belangrijke knowledge gaps te dichten, en mijn examen gered - mijn eerste 18/20!!
Ik raad hem sowieso aan, geweldige leraar!Louis heeft mij persoonlijk lessen gegeven . De lessen zijn heel makkelijk te begrijpen en zeer zorgvuldig samengesteld. Wanneer ik iets niet goed begrijp legt hij alles stap voor stap opnieuw uit. Echt een topleraar!

I can 100% recommend Mr Louis to anyone who wants to learn math and understand concepts that are usually harder to grasp. He has helped me through my Linear Algebra in university 2 weeks left to my final exam, and I managed to pass that course with 74% from which I would have otherwise gotten around 52-54% max. He is also very easy to get along with so if you have any material related questions don't hesitate to ask them.
