About Cmya
Hi! I’m a senior who has always enjoyed math and helping others understand it. I’ve been taking advanced math classes since 7th grade and finished my math courses by 10th grade, earning A’s and B’s along the way. I also passed all of my state math exams.
Even though I’m not currently taking a math class, I still really enjoy the subject and want to keep using the skills I’ve built over the years. I know that math can sometimes be confusing or frustrating, so I try to explain things in a simple, patient way without making students feel bad for not understanding something right away.
I’m here to help students feel more comfortable with math, work through problems step-by-step, and build confidence in their own abilities.

My goal as a tutor is to make math easier to understand and less stressful. I like to explain problems step-by-step and use simple examples so students can understand how to get the answer instead of just memorizing it. A typical lesson would start with going over what the student is struggling with, followed by examples and practice problems. I would let the student try problems on their own while helping when they get stuck, and then review anything they still need help with.
What sets me apart is that I have been taking advanced math since 7th grade and completed my math classes by 10th grade with A’s and B’s. I also passed all of my state math exams. Since I am now a senior without a math class, I understand what it feels like to need practice to stay comfortable with math. My lessons are mainly for middle school and high school students who need help understanding math, practicing problems, preparing for tests, or improving their confidence.
